Soul Source President Jane Silverstein received the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) 2021 Pelvic Health Friend of the Academy Award during the organization’s Annual Section Meeting in San Antonio, TX early February 2022. Bestowed by APTA’s Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy upon one recipient each year, the distinguished award recognized Jane and Soul Source’s cutting-edge trainers and contributions to furthering the Academy’s mission through practice, education, research, and – an enthusiastic area for Jane – social responsibility.
Most award recipients are physical therapists and healthcare practitioners. Yet, the Friend of the Academy Award often recognizes other non-practitioner industry professionals for their contributions, volunteerism, and impact in the field of pelvic health.
The Pelvic Health Academy cited Soul Source’s leading-edge trainer product development among the reasons for the honor, along with Jane’s personal dedication to, sponsorship of, and involvement and participation in the Academy meetings and programs.
Every year, the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy highlights and recognizes Academy members and industry partners at the APTA Pelvic Health General Business Meeting, an annual event that occurs toward the end of the APTA Combined Sections Meeting.
While Soul Source sponsors the organizations’ events, the Academy does not choose the nominees or winners – APTA members do. Members are invited to nominate fellow Academy members to recognize their brilliance in research, education, practice, volunteerism, leadership, and dedication to the physical therapy profession and industry.
Jane is honored to have been selected among her peers, who are remarkable, dedicated professionals in their own right.
